Andrea Santini is a sound and media artist with a research‑driven practice focusing on interactivity, immersion, and the spatial dimensions of sound. He studied Sound Art and Audio in London and completed a PhD on spatial sound and live electronics at the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Belfast in 2012. For over a decade, from 2007 to 2018, he led the creative research of the UBIKteatro group, producing interactive installations and performances showcased in international galleries and festivals. Alongside his artistic and sound design work, he has been active in teaching and research with institutions including the Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, and IUSVE in Venice.
He is currently a research fellow working on a second PhD on Augmented Audio Reality at the “Arrigo Pedrollo” Music Conservatory in Vicenza, co‑funded by La Piccionaia – Centro di Produzione Teatrale and developed in collaboration with partners such as CIRMMT – Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology in Montreal (Canada), Aalto University (Finland), Nous Digital (Austria), and Mezzo Forte (France)
