Short description
“Reading to Young People in 3 Dimensions” is an immersive read‑aloud format that uses 3D binaural audio to promote reading among 9–14‑year‑olds. In each session, an actor performs live using a binaural microphone, while the audience listens on wireless headphones to a mix of voice and pre‑composed 3D soundscapes that extend and transform the physical space of the library or venue. The spatialized audio places listeners “inside” the story, intensifying suspense and emotional engagement and exploring how immersive and augmented audio can support contemporary reading practices for young audiences.
