Created to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Hieronymus Bosch, Il Giardino delle Delizie is a video installation that offers a slow, exploratory journey inside the famous triptych. A life‑sized projection of the painting allows visitors to immerse themselves in its countless details, while a composed sequence of camera movements and framings guides the gaze through the three panels.
The sound design, created specifically for the installation, combines original music, Baroque‑style compositions by Pierpaolo Ciurlia, environmental soundscapes and multiple narrative voices. This layered soundtrack creates a quasi‑theatrical experience, in which viewers are led through the work by fragments of stories, descriptions and reflections that resonate with Bosch’s imagery.
Although the medium here is video rather than interactive audio, the project is closely related to my wider practice in that it treats sound, text and image as a single spatial dramaturgy, using sound design to shape how the painting is perceived and navigated over time.
